Unfortunately, the possibility to speak English is not guaranteed! But usually there is someone who speaks English well enough, so it is worth trying.
Crisis centres
If you are experiencing an acute psychological crisis and calling is not enough, you can go to a crisis centre in person. A psychologist and a psychiatrist are on site.

Psychological counselling at CTU
In the Centre for Information and Counselling Services (CIPS) at CTU you can get short-term support in challenging situations concerning your personal life, interpersonal relationships, your inner experience or your studies. Contact us when you need to find your way around your situation or when something is happening that you need help with but don’t know where to turn.
The service is free for all CTU students.
ELSA Centre for the Support of Students with Special Needs
This service is provided to students diagnosed with a chronic illness (somatic or mental) or to those who have an urgent health issue. This includes, but is not limited to, learning disabilities, autism, clinical depression or ADHD. If this applies to you, you can get learning support tailored to your needs.
General practitioner
If you don’t feel mentally well but don’t know how to handle it, you can also choose to see a GP. They will do a basic assessment of your problems and refer you to other specialists if necessary. If you have health insurance for foreigners, first contact your insurer’s helpdesk to find out which doctors your insurer has a contract with. Most often, foreigners are insured with PVZP insurance company.
Psychotherapy
Psychotherapy is a long-term form of support over the course of months to years. It can help you resolve relationship problems, process unresolved situations from the past that are troubling you, let go of troublesome fears or habits, and understand yourself more. Psychotherapy services are usually not covered by insurance for foreigners. But you can check with your insurance company. You can find direct-pay psychotherapists in English or another language here.
Psychiatrist
A psychiatrist can prescribe you necessary medication. You can go to him/her either on the recommendation of another specialist or if you have acute and serious problems on a psychological level (feeling that life doesn’t make sense, thoughts of suicide…) or on a physical level (sleep problems, constant fatigue…). Also when you have problems that make it impossible to function normally, when you hear or see something that others do not, or when you endanger yourself or your surroundings.
Psychiatric care might be provided free of charge depending on the type of your health insurance. Again, first contact your insurance company’s helpdesk, which will give you contacts for psychiatrists. Alternatively, you can seek a psychiatrist as a self-pay patient for example at Canadian Medical.
